Major blog-a-thon: Part dos.

As promised, here is part two. I think I am now caught up on our life. Well, sort of.

Happy 4th of July!

We were so lucky to be able to spend the holiday with our friends, the Housers. We went up to Copper Mountain and stayed in a condo over the weekend of the 4th. Sorry to say, I only got a few pics because we were so busy having fun!!! This was at Vail, at a park we went to for fireworks.
The kids had so much fun with their glow sticks!!! The fireworks were so beautiful, right against the mountains. We had front row seats.
Gage had fun with his glow stick, too. He liked to crawl around with it hanging out of his mouth!!!

Sorry, were geeks, we can't help the matching shirt thing. These 2 are going to be trouble together when they get older. I just know it.

Little Miss Utah

Lucky Ellie got the chance to be a "little miss" in the Miss Utah pageant this last week. My brother Devin's girlfriend, Ashley, chose her to be her little miss and so we were "pageanting" the whole second week in July. I must say I have a new respect for these girls (and their mothers). The work that goes into this pageant is amazing!!! And the girls are so talented! I don't know if I could be a career pageant mom, thought. Ellie had more than a few breakdowns and tantrums, and we were done by the end of the week. But we had so much fun cheering for Ashley - she is so amazing!!!! This is a pic of Ellie and Ashley practicing the evening gown portion. Ellie got to bring Ashley a flower as her "escort" for the night. It was her favorite part.

This is one of the production numbers that the Little Misses had to do everynight. Sorry about the poor picture quality - I wasn't even supposed to have my camera with me, but i snuck it in and took a few anyways.... She loves that crown and parasol ("its an umbrella, mom"). She loved that she got to put on makeup to. My little princess performer!!
We never knew what Ellie would do on stage. Each night was a new surprise. The first night she almost fell off of the stage because she was waving and Matt and her grandma and uncles. The second night, she came out on stage with this frog stuffed in her shirt to do her first production number. I was mortified. She couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. "Kella" just wanted to do the dance, too, mom.
Ellie is on the bottom, second from the left. The last night, she was pointing her parasol at the audience and kept popping it open and closed. When I asked her after what she had been doing, she said she was "shooting" Deving and Casey ( her uncle's out in the audience). Seriously, i dont know where she comes from.
My mom, Ashley (isn't she gorgeous?), Ashley's mom, me and Ellie. ( oh and Kella the frog in Ellie's shirt). Thanks for letting us play Ashley! We had a lot of fun!!! We think you were robbed!!!

Elitch Gardens

Well, since our time is limited in the beautiful state of Colorado, we are trying to take advantage of all of the fun things you could possibly ever want to do here before we leave. First on the list: Elitch Gardens. Its a six flags amusement park right in the middle of downtown Denver. My friend Anna and I, brave souls that we are, packed the coolers and headed on down. Here we are at the entrance, we can hardly contain our excitement!!!!
Carter and Ethan on "Chaos". Who comes up with these names? Seriously? They are smiling, because the ride hadn't started yet. It involved very rapid spinning and somersaulting upside down simultaneously. I was glad to just be watching. I almost threw up just watching.

This lovely number is the "Tower of Doom". Very appropriately named, if you ask me. Poor Anna drew the short straw and "got" to take the boys on this one.

This is also the Tower of Doom. They raise you slowly to the top and then just drop you down to the bottom. Anna didn't stop shaking for about an hour after. hee hee. I didn't get a picture of the "Mind Eraser" which was the mama of all roller coasters. Carter was barely tall enough to go. I haven't been on a roller coaster for a few years, and strangely I dont remember them being so nauseating. I must be getting old. It was fun though. lots of upside down spins and loops, and even and underground tunnel. oh yeah baby! Stay tuned for further Colorado adventures!!

Major blog-a-thon: Part uno.

IM BACK!! WOO HOO! i missed my computer "like the dessert misses the rain" as Matt would say. I am now whole again and am blogging like a mad person to catch up. So stay tuned for part dos, which will be coming shortly. smooches.

The Squid

So this is our first major school project. I say "our" because it took the whole family several long hours and lots of tears to make this thing. Carter picked the squid as his "favorite animal" and had to make a "3D" replica of it. He also had to write a report and read about it to find out the interesting facts. needless to say if you need to know anything, and i mean anything, about the red devil squid - we are now experts. This was only first grade. What happens in 2nd grade? I am starting to get a little scared. Good job Cordero! we love you!

Crazy life

Gage FINALLY learned to crawl at about 10 1/2 months. We were getting a little nervous.... He just likes to do things at his own pace. Now he is cruising around at mach 10 getting into everything. Finally had to baby proof the kitchen....
Matt got creative with the fruit snacks. We will have to pull out this picture when he goes on his first date....

My baby is one!!!!

This is Gagey during his first minutes of life! I can't believe that it has went by so fast!
Here's the number one Rockies fan at about 4 months old. He is the sunshine in all of our lives! We live to hear his funny laugh or make him smile. And who could resist those chubby cheeks!!
Here's the first present. He loved the bag! We just had a little party with our friends the Runyon's. Matt had to go to Utah and so he missed the big day. Gage wondered what all the fuss was about, but loved to play with all the new toys.
One cupcake for each hand, that's my boy!!!! Don't you just want to eat him up??? I can't get enough of the little fatty!!!
I was pretty proud of these cupcakes.... sunshine because his bday is the first day of summer... June 21st. just call me Martha Stewart..... LOL.
