A couple weeks ago, we decided to take a little trip to Utah and surprise everyone. We decided to go on a thursday and left that next morning. We didn't tell anyone we were coming, just got in the car and started driving. However, due to the wonderful weather in the beautiful state of Wyoming we got stuck on the freeway, not moving an inch for about 4 hours, in the middle of a snow and windstorm. There was a jackknifed semi taking up all lanes of traffic and we sat there until they could get it moved off the road. So much fun!!! So anyway... it ruined the surprise because we had to call and let my parents know to leave the door open for us because we weren't going to get there until late!!! (we ended up getting to Utah at about 4 a.m.). It was a long 14 hour drive, but we are glad that we finally made it! So the following is a couple of random pictures from our surprise, and very short, trip to Utah! This first one is Carter and Ellie in the tree at Grandma and Grandpa Lewis's house. We couldn't believe how much snow there was!!
Carter's new love is "guitar hero", he played it nonstop with Uncle Dev. We ended up buying it for him when we got home! (Matt and I actually have a lot of fun with it too.....).
We were so lucky to be visiting the same time as Emilie, Brett and the kids and so we met for lunch one day!! It was so fun! It's hard living so far from everyone! Look at how our families are growing! from left to right: Eden, Ellie, Emilie holding Gage, Amber holding Avi, and Carter! Emilie is such a beautiful and patient mom to these gorgeous little girls! They are so lucky to have her!
